-Hi, so I am an idiot. I was going to drive my car and when I went to sit in it I had to adjust the rearview mirror in it. When I moved it a little it fell, and now their is a wonderful crack across the mirror. I have been looking on google and trying to find out information on how to fix it. But some webs say I have to replace the whole thing which will cost more than two hundred dollars.....if I get it from honda( which is my dealership) . But can the mirror be replaced or the whole thing gotta go...and what is the cheaper way to get it fixed? I am open to anything...There are a couple of ways of going about it, the cheapest option is to get a clip on mirror. You put the cracked mirror back on, and you can use a mirror that clips on over the existing mirror. Here's a quick example one I got from a Google search:

If you look around you can easily find one for less then $10. These work very well, but look tacky, and it is clear that it is not the original.
You can go to a junkyard, and buy the mirror, and they will give it to you for a low price, and it will be the exact same mirror, but for a lot less then a dealer. A lot of junkyards list there products on ebay as well, so you could check out eBay as well. I did a quick search, and I saw a lot of rear view mirrors for different cars going for under $30.
Lastly, you can by a luxurious generic rear view mirror, I have an '06 Saab 9-5, and that came with auto-dimming mirrors, so when your driving at night, it will dim by itself, so the headlights of the car behind you don't shine in your eyes. It has multiple light sensors, so it will dim it to the point where you can clearly see the car behind you, but the headlights won't hurt your eyes. There are generic auto dimming mirrors available that fit a lot of cars, here's a quick example:

There are very cheap generic rear view mirrors as well, but the original is of better quality, and is usually not much more on eBay or a junkyard.
http://www.amazon.com/Gentex-GENK2a-auto鈥?/a>Really simple, just visit your local junkyard...You can get mirrors and other minor car parts pretty cheap.....You can install the mirror by yourself also...it's pretty self explanatory...If your not feeling confident installing it,I suggest asking a friend who has Experience working with cars.....
just go to autozone or parts store buy a mirrior kit and place it on old mirrior. as long as its just cracked and not shattered it will work fine
