Fix it ticket in California for tinted windows?

-So I got a fix it ticket for my tinted windows. I got it signed off by a family friend who is a sheriff, without getting the tint taken off. [he doesn't think it is necessary and is an overall helpful guy]. My question is this: Since I got a ticket for it, it has to be in the system [right?]. So what happens if I get pulled over again for my windows? Will the cop see the old ticket in the system, or does it get erased after I sent in my signed-off ticket? Help!
