-So to describe the situation, my car does not turn off. I have to pull fuses out for the car to fully stop. So i took my car into the shop and they told me that the problem was the ignition switch so they replaced the ignition switch. So i go i pay them for replacing the ignition switch and go home. Turns out when i go home the entire car does NOT turn off just the engine. the fan and everything keep on running. The check engine light was still on when i left there and they told me it was fixed. I come back the next day and apparantly now the computer is also bad. The reason im asking is it seems oddly suspicious that i paid them for their work and then after i pay them they tell me it didnt work. I would think they would have noticed it wasnt working still even after they replaced it? should i do a stop payment?I have that exact problem. I went to 3 mechanics locally who couldn't fix the problem. My car is a Mazda so I finally drove 3 hours to a dealer who also couldn't fix my problem. I replaced relays, the ignition switch and the dealer said they checked all the wiring. Spent almost $800. No one could help. I ran a wire to the fuse that I had to pull to turn everything off and hooked it to a toggle switch on the inside. You're getting screwed. In order to turn off the "Check Engine" light, they have to hook the car up to a diagnostics computer, so they HAD to have found that the first time.
go somewhere else they're probably ******* up your car even more because they know how to fix it and they know you're gonna payem to fix
Go to another mechanic and get a second opinion
