How much does failing a smog check take away from the value of a car?

-I have a 1996 nissan that according to kbb.com is worth about $2300, but I have just failed my second smog check. I am wondering, how much would this car be worth now, since it has 2 failed smog checks in its history?i think would take away a lot.

Also KBB is not a good source for values , they are ALWAYS to high.

But no smog will cost you plenty unless you selll it to someone that is clueless about such things.to a buyer everything would you buy a car for 2300 that may cost thousands to fix
