The five hours are from NJ to washington dcLets say about 250 miles.

at 20 miles per gallon, thats 12.5 gallons

12.5 gallond at $5 per gallon is $62.50.What size tank, how much is a gallon of gas at that particular time, EFI or carb, dude, dude'et ain't no way. check msn.com and they have some fuel 'links' of routes and even prices.
you gotta think about the traffic, how many mpg your car is (miles per gallon) and then you should be able to figure out, with an average car (25mpg) probably about 3 or 4 stops
theres no way to guess that! does your old car get 10 mpg or 30. How many miles are you traveling? 5 hours driving time at 30 mph would be way more miles than at 70 mph
